Well Minds

The Well Minds group meets on the first Monday monthly between 7-9pm.

It is a group for parents and carers of children and young people struggling with any type of illness of the mind.  Depression.  Anxiety.  Eating disorders.  Self harm.  Anger management.  The list goes on and on.  To share the worries and strain in a safe confidential environment with others who know exactly how they are feeling and what they are going through.

As parents it is so easy to feel isolated and so hard to find support for yourself or the other members of the family living with the impact. The Well Minds group offers a safe, confidential place to share over a cuppa the struggles and the achievements that our children face daily.

This group will initially be held monthly and will be led and directed by those attending the group. Speakers will be invited in response to concerns; such as our volunteer solicitor to advise on power of attorney, Psychiatric nurse for relaxation exercises………

We aim to support and encourage and work at removing the stigma attached to mental illnesses and will be meeting each 1st Monday evening at 7-9pm from February.

As a follow on from this group, we will be developing a second group Well Families. This group aims to build family cohesion.  Any mental illness in a family has a profound impact on all members and all relationships within that family unit.  With support from Harborough district council we will be organising fun activities for the whole family to take part in.  Days at Rutland water raft building / Picnicking, roller skating, bowls, etc.
